Valedictory of Executive Business Communication Programme for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)

The valedictory of the first edition of the Executive Business Communication Programme for regional and zonal managers of HPCL was held on 9th October 2021.  The programme director was Dr Deepti Ganapathy. Professor Rishikesha Krishnan, Director, IIMB, while releasing a 24-page booklet giving an overview of the programme, lauded the senior management at HPCL for recognizing communication as a core area for building the confidence of their front-line leaders. He congratulated the participants on their successful completion of the programme and urged them to utilize the key learnings. Professor Chetan Subramanian, Dean Faculty presented certificates to the top 3 teams that emerged winners as part of the programme’s evaluation component. Professor Subramanian highlighted the excellent feedback received from the participants while congratulating the Programme Director and participants for the highly interactive nature of the programme.  This custom Executive Education Programme, ‘Executive Business Communication for HPCL’, was a 14-week intensive course designed for online learning. It combined classroom learning experience that was activity-based, simulations and continuous engagement and learning through the LMS Moodle and specific digital platform tools.  The programme was designed after ascertaining the needs of HPCL through deliberations and dialogue. The core structure of this program was meant to encourage participants to recognize and understand their communication strengths and align it to the organization’s goals, create convincing messages to suit audience purpose, context and lead teams with engaging and energizing conversations.  Carefully handpicked guest faculty from the realm of stakeholders HPCL interacts with were included in this programme to ensure participants could assess and reflect upon their progress.
