Tips on Research-Informed Teaching

In the second video of this initiative, Prof. Varun Jindal of the Finance & Accounting area, talks about Integrating Research into Teaching.

He says that integration of his research in his teaching has helped him as an instructor because that:

• boosted his confidence level as he taught his own findings and not someone else’s 
• enabled him to handle questions from students in a more confident manner 
• required a much lesser time in preparation for teaching in the classroom. 

Additionally, Dr. Jindal is of the view that discussing and teaching one’s own research repeatedly in class often makes way for a related, but new, idea for future research.
