Arvind Soundarajan joins IIM Bangalore as Senior Manager – Human Resources

Arvind Soundarajan has joined IIM Bangalore as Senior Manager – Human Resources on November 02, 2021. He will be reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Arvind Soundarajan acquired his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical and Electronics) from The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore and MBA from ICFAI University, Dehradun. He went on to pursue a Certificate Program in Business Management (CPBM) in General Management at SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysore. He also holds a certification from the Society for Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from Skillsoft, USA.

Arvind has over 16 years of experience in general Human Resource functions like Recruitment, Performance Management, Digitalization of HR Processes through ERP, Compensation & Benefits (implementation of 7th CPC recommendations), Employee Welfare & Administration, Payroll & HR Statutory Compliances, and Training & Development. He is passionate about People Development and Digitalization of HR Processes, has experience in working on Oracle Peoplesoft – HRMS Suite and has implemented the same at the BITS Pilani campus.

His previous assignment was with Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani as Manager and Head of the Department – Human Resources, where he was responsible for carrying out the entire range of HR tasks for the Pilani campus pertaining to the employees of the institute, including recruitment, welfare, appraisal, coordinating training programmes and payroll processing.

Prior to his stint at BITS Pilani, Arvind was working with Kalpatharu-Mysore, an export oriented manufacturing company in the field of botanical extracts used for medical purposes, for 11 years in various roles such as Manager-Administration & Projects, General Manager-Human Resources and Vice President-Business Development.
