Throughout this week, a series of webinars and panel discussions were hosted on investor education and protection. A host of eminent speakers explained the intricacies of the investment scenario in India. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Bangalore. Dr. M Jayadev, Chairperson, Centre for Capital Markets and Risk Management and faculty in the Finance & Accounting area of IIMB, delivered the welcome address. The keynote address was delivered by Ravi Varanasi, Chief Business Development Officer at NSE. Given the present increase in the use of technology in the markets and its implications, Ravi Varanasi chose to bring light upon the present and future of electronic trading. As the Platform for Investors’ Education completes one year of delivering quality content on Financial Education, Dr. Aishwarya Krishna, Manager of CCMRM, presented a video on the ‘The Journey of PIE’. The presentation by Rajindra Naik, Consultant at CCMRM, discussed ‘Alternative Investment Funds’.

The Centre for Capital Markets and Risk Management (CCMRM) at IIM Bangalore and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) had launched the Platform for Investors’ Education (PIE) on August 14, 2020 as a platform that encompasses easily navigable, product-neutral financial literacy to assist investors.
