IIMB alumnus appointed Chief Adviser Cost to the Government of India

IIM Bangalore is proud to announce that the school’s alumnus Umesh Kumar Shukla (PGPPM 2007-09) has been elevated to the post of ‘Chief Adviser Cost’ in the Government of India, in Level 17 in the Seventh CPC Pay Matrix (Secretary equivalent), with effect from January 01, 2022.

The Chief Adviser Cost (CAC) is the Cadre Controlling for the Indian Cost Accounts Service (ICoAS), which advises the Ministries and Government Undertakings on cost accounts matters and undertakes cost investigation work on their behalf. The office of CAC deals with matters relating to costing and pricing, studies for determining fair prices, studies on user charges, cost-benefit analysis of projects, studies on cost reduction, cost efficiency, appraisal of capital intensive projects, profitability analysis and application of modern management tools evolving cost and commercial financial accounting for Ministries/Departments of the Government of India.
