Former Chairman of IIMB V Krishnamurthy passes away at 97

Former chairman of SAIL and Padma Vibhushan awardee, V. Krishnamurthy, passed away on June 26th, at the age of 97, in Chennai. V. Krishnamurthy was a Member of the IIMB Board of Governors for five years from 9th August 1973. He was the Chairman, Board of Governors, IIMB, from 27th January 1983 to 31st August 1984. He turned around BHEL and SAIL and built Maruti in its early years. In his tribute, IIMB Director Dr. Rishikesha T Krishnan said, “Krishnamurthy was one of the principal drivers of the quality movement in India. He contributed to larger industrial competitiveness through his chairmanship of the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council.”
