IIM Bangalore’s Centre for Public Policy to host the XVII International Conference on Public Policy & Management from August 22 to 24

Online registration process for the conference is now open; primary themes include: Social and Income Security; Social Movements; Climate Change; and Emerging Role of Technology 

The Centre for Public Policy (CPP) at IIM Bangalore will host the XVII International Conference on Public Policy & Management from August 22 to 24, 2022. The conference would be ideal for academicians, policy regulators, NGO professionals and others with an interest in Public Policy.

On the evening of August 21, there will be a pre-conference event which celebrates the recent book of Prof. M Govinda Rao titled, ‘Studies in Indian Public Finance’. Prof. M. Govinda Rao is a former member of the 14th Finance Commission and Non-resident Senior Fellow, National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER).

The CPP Conference on Public Policy & Management is an interdisciplinary conference which draws scholars representing a diversity of perspectives on Public Policy issues and provides a forum for showcasing the latest developments in policy research and practice. The conference hosts academic sessions, topical policy debates, workshops, panel discussions and practitioner-oriented discussions on contemporary topics on Public Policy and Management.

The online registration process for the CPP conference is open at present. The primary themes for the conference include: Social and Income Security (including UBI, DBT and other initiatives); Social Movements; Climate Change; and Emerging Role of Technology including Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning.

Theoretical and empirical papers shedding light on how particular domains shape or are shaped by Public Policy, opportunities and constraints of institutional arrangements and social as well as economic contexts shaping Public Policy would be accepted. Papers not in these domains but related to Public Policy broadly would also be accepted.

The last dates for submissions are: April 30, 2022 for specific track proposals; June 15, 2022 for complete paper submissions and June 30, 2022 for announcement of acceptance results.

The conference organizing committee comprises Dr. M S Sriram, Chairperson and faculty, Centre for Public Policy; Dr. Hema Swaminathan, faculty in the Public Policy area and Chairperson, Internal Committee; and Dr. Arpit Shah, faculty in the Public Policy area and IIMB Young Faculty Research Chair.

This year, the conference will be held in an offline mode at the IIM Bangalore campus, adhering to all the preventive measures and guidelines proposed by the government, relating to Covid 19.
