Inauguration of Business Management Programme for Defence Officers

This part-time hybrid certificate programme for the retiring officers of the Short Service Commission (SSC)/ Indian Defence Forces was inaugurated on campus. Designed to impart skills and knowledge needed for the officers to make a transition to successful corporate careers, the programme aims to build their core business and general management competencies. It is a 21-day programme delivered in a hybrid mode over six months and includes in-person lectures on campus as well as self-paced learning through MOOCs from IIMBx. Case studies and discussions, role-play, peer networking and interaction with industry practitioners are all a part of the continuous learning process. 

The cohort comprises 50 officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force. Major General Sharad Kapur, YSM, SM, Director General, Resettlement, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India, was the Chief Guest at the inauguration. The programme is anchored by Dr. G Shainesh (Marketing), Dr. Vasanthi Srinivasan (OB&HRM), Dr. Padmini Srinivasan (Finance) and Dr. P D Jose (Strategy).
