IIMB launches the Post Graduate in Public Policy and Management in Blended Learning Mode
The Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) is one of the prestigious programs of IIM Bangalore. The programme aims to improve efficiency and leadership skills among policymakers and administrators while exposing them to topical issues in management. The program has completed 20 years of its journey and was an in-campus throughout.
With the evolving digital revolution in the education industry, the PGPPM program launched in a blended learning format for the first time this year. The participants will have a blended learning experience with both in–campus and online learning components. The participants will have their learning online through IIMB Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs ).
The re-designed PGPPM is a 40-week modular and hybrid PG Diploma programme. Participants spend time on campus in modules 2 (8 weeks) and 4 (2 weeks), while module 1 and 3 uses IIMB’s robust MOOCs platforms. Further details of the program are available under the program structure tab.
Module 1 covers the foundation and will be delivered online through IIMB MOOCS. These online courses will help the participants build a foundation on the different management domains, including Public Policy, Statistics for Policy Analysis, Marketing Principles for Policy, Strategic Management, Financial Accounting, People and Organization Management and Economics. Module 1 will run for 14 weeks (around three and half months), followed by Module 2, comprising the physical face-to-face campus sessions. The participants will be able to build their concepts further with in-campus learning, gaining insights from the learned IIMB faculty by directly interacting with them.
Module 3 will again be online learning for the students comprising the MOOCs of IIMB. A series of MOOCs will be delivered during the period of 4 months on different topics covering Policy and Management aspects. There will be online courses on Infrastructure and PPPs, Data-Driven Policy Making, Intellectual Property Rights, Cooperatives and Producer Companies, Behavioural Economics and Public Policy, Managing Innovation, New Product Development and many others.
The 2023 PGPPM is implementing a blended learning model comprising face-to-face campus sessions and online learning through MOOCs delivered by IIMBx. IIMBx team is happy to be a part of this pilot project.
