Dr. Rusha Das shortlisted for Best Doctorate Award by Academy of Management, Critical Management Studies for Highly Commended category

Dr. Rusha Das from the Public Policy area at IIMB has been shortlisted for the coveted Academy of Management Critical Management Studies Best Doctorate Award for the Highly Commended category. The AoM CMS division is dedicated to promoting management research and education that interrogates relations of power and control and giving voice to marginal and oppressed voices.

Prof. Das has been invited to present her dissertation ‘Changes in environmental impact assessment (EIA) regulation in India: Exploring the political dynamics from a neo-Gramscian perspective’. In her study, Prof. Das states that Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is traditionally seen as a scientific tool for sustainable development, ensuring that economic projects consider their environmental effects in decision-making. However, the EIA regulatory process has become politically contentious, involving various stakeholders with differing power, interests, and beliefs.
