Mid-Career Training Program Phase V for IDAS Officers conducted from 22 July to 2 August

The Mid-Career Training Program Phase V (MCTP-V) for Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officers was conducted from 22 July to 2 August 2024. Indian Defence Account Service is one of the Group ‘A’ Central Civil Services. The IDAS officers occupy middle and senior leadership positions in Defence Accounts Department, Ministry of Defence and other Central Ministries. Headed by the Controller General of Defence Accounts, the department is mandated to provide financial advice, payment, accounting and internal audit functions in respect of Army, Navy, Air Force, Ordnance Factories, the Defence Research and Development Organisation, Border Roads Organisation, Canteen Stores Department and other allied organizations.

The Programme Directors were Dr. Rahul Dé and Dr. Anil B Suraj. The 10-day programme was delivered at the IIMB campus. The inauguration featured Dr. Mayank Sharma, Addl CGDA, IDAS, and Dr. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Bangalore, addressing the participants and setting the context of programme.

This Custom programme was designed with the objective of providing senior officers with the necessary knowledge, skills and outlook to be able to discharge their responsibilities effectively in their current roles as well as strengthen global perspectives and strategy.

The programme will help the officers to actively participate and contribute towards building of international as well as comparative perspectives by giving them exposure to emerging developments and trends in relevant themes, and facilitate group work and thinking on strategic proposals for unlocking national strength, while building global collaborations.
