Dr. Prateek Raj, Assistant Professor of the Strategy area, has moved on from the services of the Institute with effect from 17 January 2025, to join his alma mater University College London, at the UCL Global Business School for Health. Having joined IIMB on 18 July 2018, he was faculty of the Institute for more than six years.
Prof. Prateek Raj obtained his PhD and Master’s degrees from University College London, and B Tech from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. His research interests are in Economic History, Political Economy, Cultural Economics, Social Capital, Economic Sociology and Organizational Theory. At IIMB, he taught Competition & Strategy, Strategic Stewardship, Evolution of Business & Markets, Technology, Innovation & Management, etc. He also served as Coordinator of the PhD Programme in the Strategy area.
His research has been recognized with grants and awards, including the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). He has contributed to academic reports on diverse topics, such as envisioning the future of Karnataka, assessing the 2019 Kumbh Mela, and protecting journalism in the age of digital platforms. He has also written popular articles for publications like the Times of India, Indian Express, Forbes, and ProMarket, covering economic history, economic development, and the information economy.
