PGP alumnus Arun Pai selected for 2025 Kempegowda Award

Arun Pai, Founder, Bangalore Walks, and alumnus of the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP 1993) at IIMB, has been selected for the Kempegowda Award, conferred at the 516th Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Jayanti celebrations at the BBMP head office. The award honours individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the city of Bengaluru.

A corporate executive-turned-storyteller and civic advocate, Arun is widely known across the city for his commitment to preserving and narrating the rich heritage of Bengaluru. Through meticulously researched journeys designed to revive public interest in the city’s layered past, he has led more than 1,500 immersive heritage walks across Bengaluru, engaging over 30,000 participants.

Pai has also been an advocate for walkable public infrastructure, combining civic engagement with cultural storytelling. In 2023, during India’s G20 Summit, he served as the official representative of the Government of Karnataka in curating and executing heritage tours for international delegates visiting Bengaluru.
