Dr. Abhay Sobhanan
Dr. Abhay Sobhanan will join IIMB on 11th August as an Assistant Professor in the Decision Sciences area. He holds the Young Faculty Research Chair. Abhay Sobhanan completed his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering at the University of South Florida in 2025. His research focuses on the optimization of transportation networks and supply chain operations, with an emphasis on practical concerns such as equitable workload allocation. He employs a range of methodologies, including integer programming, neural combinatorial optimization, machine learning, and heuristic approaches. His work has been published in leading journals such as Transportation Science, Computers & Operations Research, and Annals of Operations Research, and has been recognized at international conferences, including being a finalist for the Best Paper Award at the 2024 IISE Annual Conference.
