Prof. Abhoy K Ojha
Professor Abhoy K Ojha, Professor, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources Management (OB&HRM) area, superannuated from the services of IIM Bangalore on 31st December 2025 after a service of 29 years at the Institute. Before joining the Institute, he had teaching stints at the University of Alberta and Laurentian University, Sudbury, both in Canada. Before joining academia, he worked as an engineer with ONGC, India.
Prof. Ojha obtained his PhD in Organisational Analysis from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada and Post Graduate Diploma in Administrative Management from the University of Mumbai and BTech (Mechanical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. His teaching and research interests include Organisational Effectiveness, Performance, Total Quality Management / Continuous Quality Improvement, Management of Technology and Innovations and Organisational Demography.
At IIMB, Prof. Ojha taught courses in Designing Organizations, Organisational Theory, Philosophy of Social Science, Managing Organisation, Enlightened Leadership for Responsible Business, etc. He has undertaken several consulting assignments in the private sector as well as in the government and public sector environments.
Prof. Ojha has been an active researcher, having presented his work at conferences of repute and published in domestic and international journals, and has contributed to several book chapters. He has also been the Chair of the dissertation committees of several doctoral candidates, who are today active academics and researchers, besides being a member of the dissertation committees of many more. He has been a reviewer for conferences and journals and on the editorial board of reputed journals.
Prof. Ojha has been involved with academic administration in various capacities at IIMB. Notably, he served as Dean (Programmes), Chairperson (Admissions), Chairperson (Post Graduate Programme in Software Enterprise Management), and Chairperson (Executive Education). Most recently, he led the Institute through its Golden Jubilee as Chairperson of the Golden Jubilee Committee when the Institute celebrated its 50 years in 2023, with several high-profile events organised throughout the year.
