IIMBx Monthly Highlights: Production, Platforms and Learner Impact

Over the past year, IIMBx has strengthened its role as a scalable digital education engine for IIM Bangalore, with advances across production quality, platform innovation, learner engagement and programme delivery.

Production & Studios
The production team completed a major upgrade of equipment, studios and workflow, bringing recordings to industry standards. The basement studio has been transformed into a modular, prompter-enabled facility, while tools such as StreamYard and AI-assisted workflow have enhanced live sessions, translations and content creation. Outsourcing costs were reduced by 13% year-on-year through stronger in-house capability. The next set of priorities include post-production streamlining, a searchable content library and continued team upskilling.

Technology & Platforms
In 2025, IIMBx focused on platform stability and AI-led experimentation. Major backend migrations and UI/UX improvements were completed, while AI-enabled chatbots now handle a majority of learner support queries. Pilots include conversational course tutors and AI-assisted Hindi translations. Cost optimization efforts have reduced AWS spend, and new dashboards now provide end-to-end visibility across production and academic workflow. In 2026, the focus shifts to execution scaling Sangam, mainstreaming AI-assisted workflow and prioritizing high-impact initiatives with clear timelines.

SWAYAM, edX & Government Platforms
IIMBx continues to scale its national footprint across SWAYAM, edX and iGOT. On SWAYAM, offerings have grown from 48 to 223 courses, reaching 6.2 lakh-plus learners. Governance and quality have been strengthened through faculty-led review committees, formal MoUs, SPOC-based coordination and expanded multilingual offerings. On edX, IIMBx currently hosts MicroMasters, Professional Certificates and individual courses, with several new programmes planned for 2026. BBA DBE examinations were conducted across 46 pin codes, with partner institutions expanding to 24 and record-high exam registrations.

Open & Executive Programmes
Four flagship certificate programmes – AI for Managers, Hospital Management, Airlines Management and FinTech – continue to attract strong demand. Programmes have been streamlined to 10 months, improving learner completion, assessment scheduling and marketing effectiveness. Enrolments are diversifying beyond anchor partners, supported by structured admissions, live faculty engagement and proactive learner support. Priorities ahead include stronger alumni-led outreach and dedicated marketing as well as delivery capacity.

Degree Programmes (BBA DBE)
With over 1,600 active learners, BBA DBE delivery has scaled to more than 480 hours of content, 80-plus live sessions and over 13,000 evaluated submissions. The focus is now on strengthening academic rigor, improving early identification of at-risk learners, and enhancing data visibility across the learner journey through ERP, Analytics and AI-assisted evaluation.

Strategic Direction
Across teams, the emphasis is shifting from scale alone to measurable learner impact, long-term capability building and data-informed decision-making. Priorities include strengthening degree programmes, expanding Sangam and MSME initiatives, investing in instructional design and learner analytics, and positioning IIMBx as a one-stop, high-quality production and digital learning hub for IIMB and beyond.

Overall, IIMBx continues to evolve as a platform for impact, creating value at scale for learners, faculty and society.
