IIM Bangalore’s PhD student Anand Kumar selected for UNU WIDER Visiting PhD Fellowship
Anand Kumar, student of IIM Bangalore’s Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme from the Economics area, has been selected for the prestigious UNU WIDER Visiting PhD Fellowship.
Anand’s research interests are in economics of education, gender, behavioral and labour economics. His work has been published in Education Economics. During the Fellowship, he will be working on the project, ‘Effect of conflict and post-conflict reconciliation program on human capital formation: Evidence from Rwanda’.
The UNU WIDER Visiting PhD Fellowship gives doctoral students the opportunity to utilize the resources at UNU-WIDER for their research and to work with researchers at UNU WIDER in areas of mutual interest. During the programme, Fellows prepare one or more research papers and present a seminar on their research findings. They also have the opportunity to publish their research in the WIDER Working Paper Series.
The UNU WIDER Visiting PhD Fellowship is highly competitive and only a limited number of Fellows are accepted. In recent years, one percent of all applications have been successful.
