PhD student Bibek Bhattacharya wins awards for papers based on his dissertation work
Some papers based on the dissertation work of Bibek Bhattacharya, student of IIM Bangalore’s Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme, have won recognition at various prestigious forums.
His paper titled, ‘Regional Variation in Liability of Privateness, Interorganizational Networks, and Make-or-Buy of CSR’ (second dissertation essay) won the ‘Best Paper Award’ at the India Responsible Capital Conference (IRCC-2023), held at IIM Ahmedabad from 8th to 9th December 2023, which was co-organized by the Arun Duggal Centre for ESG Research (CESGR) and Misra Centre for Financial Markets and Economy, IIM Ahmedabad.
His third dissertation essay titled, ‘Network Constraint and Ex-bureaucrat Directors’ won the ‘Best Paper Award’ at the India Strategy Conference (ISC-2023), held at IIM Bangalore from 14th to 17th December 2023, which was co-organized by IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad, ISB Hyderabad and Confederation of Indian Industry Chief Strategy Officers’ Forum (CII CSO Forum). He also won the ‘Best Emerging Scholar Award’ at ISC-2023.
Bibek’s third dissertation essay titled, ‘The Costs of Network Position: Structural Constraint and Ex-bureaucrat Directors’ won the Best Paper Second Prize at the 25th Annual Convention of the Strategic Management Forum (SMF), held at and organized by IIM Trichy from 18th to 20th December 2023.
Congratulating Bibek on his achievements and wishing him more success, Dr. Ananth Krishnamurthy, Chairperson, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and faculty of the Decision Sciences area of IIM Bangalore, said that Bibek’s achievements will prove to be an inspiration to several PhD students.
