CSITM to host research seminar on ‘Response to Floods in a Coastal Megacity’

The Centre for Software and Information Technology Management (CSITM), IIM Bangalore, will host a research seminar titled “The Workings of a City: The Response to Floods in a Coastal Megacity” by Prof. Amine Charles-Louis Ouazad, Department of Economics, HEC Montréal, in Classroom K-21, at 4:00 PM on 13 August 2026.

The seminar will examine how highly localized urban flooding influences housing markets and residential patterns in rapidly growing coastal cities. Drawing on evidence from Mumbai, Prof. Ouazad will present research that combines geocoded waterlogging reports, rainfall data, and urban infrastructure information to quantify the economic impact of flood exposure on property values and household location choices.
