Dr. Anjana Dube
Dr. Anjana Dube joined IIM Bangalore as Chief Policy Officer in the Center for Public Policy on 3rd November 2025.
Dr. Dube brings over 30 years of distinguished experience in varied areas of official statistics, public management, financial inclusion, and board level governance in a Public Sector Bank. She previously served as Senior Regional Advisor at the Africa Center for Statistics, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), where she led initiatives in transformation and modernisation of official statistics systems in Africa and served in various committees.
She has held several senior positions in the Government of India, including Additional Director General, DIID (Computer Centre), NSO, and Deputy Director General, Department of Financial Services. Her contributions include development, management and release statistical products, national-level data management and strategy, large scale data analysis, data integration, micro-data systems, big data initiatives, survey design and management, survey of non-profit institutions in India, development of the Financial Inclusion Index.
Her research interest includes financial inclusion, micro-finance, public management and data-based decision-making, with publication in leading journals such as the Journal of Development Studies and IIMB Management Review.
