Farewell for Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan
On the afternoon of July 21st, students, staff and faculty at IIM Bangalore came together to thank Dr. Rishikesha T Krishnan, whose five-year term as Director concluded on July 19th 2025. It was an afternoon of warm reminiscences as many recalled their own experience of Dr. R T Krishnan’s calm and decisive leadership, especially during the COVID years when he led daily meetings with the medical team at IIMB and the Deans to ensure that the campus remained safe, and the academic calendar, unaffected. A few of his faculty colleagues recalled his support for high quality research, his efforts at launching new initiatives like the online BBA DBE program and his personal involvement in resolving challenges even if they were non-academic in nature. The staff, especially from the Dean Faculty’s Office, recalled his eye for detail when presented with files for approval, and his ability to ask crucial questions thus ensuring they presented quality reports. The Staff Recreation Committee (SRC) thanked him for his unstinting support.
In his address, Dr. Rishikesha Krishnan not only expressed deep gratitude to the entire IIMB community for their support and commitment but also exhorted them to excel in all their professional activities. He also welcomed Dr. Dinesh Kumar who takes over as Director In-charge.
