IIMB celebrated International Women’s Day with a talk by Maj. Nithi CJ

Passion, purpose, duty….these are not mere words for someone like Maj. Nithi CJ, from the Indian Army. Sharing highlights of her career in Army Intelligence with staff, students and faculty at IIM Bangalore on the eve of International Women’s Day, on 7th March, Major Nithi talked about what it takes to address gender stereotypes. In her brief presentation and interactive session, she said, “In 2010, I donned the uniform to live the life I dreamt of. In ten years, I travelled across the county, investigating, eliciting, assessing and analyzing information. In 2020, I chose to do my MPhil in Defence and Strategic Studies, and also became a certified yoga Instructor. Leadership is all about utilizing your potential and helping others realize theirs.”

Earlier in the day, the Human Resources Department at IIMB and the Staff Recreation Committee (SRC) organized events, sports, quiz and more for the women in IIMB. Women comprise 55 per cent of the non-teaching staff at the Institute.
