Mid-Career Training Program Phase V for IDAS Officers inaugurated

A 10-day Mid-Career Training Program Phase V (MCTP V) for Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) Officers, conducted on the IIMB campus, was inaugurated on June 20th, 2022. The programme will be conducted until July 1st, 2022.

Shashi B. Srivastava, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts, Bangalore, addressing the participants and set the context of the programme. Programme Directors  Dr. Rahul Dé, faculty in the Information Systems area, and Dr. Anil Suraj, from the Centre for Public Policy, were present.

The Indian Defence Account Service (IDAS) is among the Group ‘A’ Central Civil Services. IDAS officers occupy middle and senior leadership positions in the Defence Accounts Department, Ministry of Defence, and other Central Ministries.  Headed by the Controller General of Defence Accounts, the Department is mandated to provide financial advice, payment, accounting and internal audit functions for Army, Navy, Air Force, Ordnance Factories, Defence Research and Development Organization, Border Road Organization and Canteen Stores Department and other allied organizations.

This custom programme is designed with an objective of providing the senior officers with the necessary knowledge, skills, and outlook to discharge their responsibilities effectively in their current role and strengthen their global perspectives and strategies.

The programme helps them to actively participate and contribute towards building of international and comparative perspectives by giving them exposure to emerging developments and trends in relevant themes and also group work and thinking on strategic proposals for unlocking national strengths, while also building global collaborations.
