Mridul Sureka, Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) 2021-2023, Gold Medallist – First Rank Holder

Mridul, aged 23 years, grew up in Kolkata where his parents own businesses in the textile sector. His father is a businessman while his mother has donned several responsibilities. Mridul’s sister is a Commerce Graduate and runs a textile exports business. 

Mridul has excelled academically throughout the programme at IIMB. He secured perfect grades of 4.00 in 24 out of 27 courses pursued at IIMB with an A-grade in all the 27 courses. He finished the first year of the programme as the first ranked student and as Term Topper in all the three terms. He was also included in the Director’s Merit List and was awarded six scholarships for his academic achievements. He was selected to pursue an Exchange Program at HEC Paris, where he scored perfect grades in seven out of nine courses and was also awarded an Exchange Scholarship by the French Embassy. Mridul also participated in a host of business case competitions, was the national winner of the Venture Capital Investment Competition and will represent India in the global finals soon.

During his IIMB journey, Mridul has received several merit scholarships. He was awarded the Mold-Tek Scholarship for securing the first place in the Director’s Merit List, the Charpak Exchange Scholarship of Excellence from the French Embassy to pursue studies in HEC Paris, the Siddharth Padam Scholarship for securing the highest CGPA in Economics, Finance and Accounting core courses, the Smt Parvathi and Sri Vedula Krishnamurthy Award for securing highest CGPA in Competition and Strategy, Business Government and Society, and Entrepreneurship core courses, the Smt Saraswati Kulkarni Prize for Excellence in Entrepreneurship, IIMB Merit Scholarship for securing a top-20 place in the first year, and the Director’s Merit List Scholarship.

Mridul aspires to build a career in Private Equity Investing, and it is his dream to make positive business impact. He also aspires to serve the country in economic policy making at a later stage in his career.
