Advanced Programme in Financial Management, Custom Programme for Senior Officers of GUVNL, GETRI

IIMB Executive Education has delivered a five-day Custom Programme for Senior Officers of Gujarat Energy Training and Research Institute Vadodara (GETRI) and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL). The programme was designed for 30 senior-level officers working in the Finance and Accounts departments of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. and the subsidiary companies (GUVNL, GSECL, GETCO and the four DISCOMs, namely, PGVCL, UGVCL, MGVCL and DGVCL) involved in different domains (generation, transmission, distribution and trading) of electricity.

The programme’s primary goal is to improve the performance of finance professionals by assisting them in acquiring new knowledge, skills and tools that will help them work more effectively and make better decisions. The programme themes included tools for financial analysis and budgetary controls, advanced accounting tools, implications of emergent technology in the power sector, encouraged team leadership, strategic thinking and decision-making in uncertainty.

The programme was designed and led by Dr. Padmini Srinivasan (Finance & Accounting) and  Dr. M Jayadev (Finance & Accounting).
