Data Centre & Analytics Lab signs MoU with Cauvery Nature Cure Centre to conduct research on Naturopathy

The Data Centre and Analytics Lab (DCAL) at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore has entered into a collaboration with Cauvery Nature Cure Centre to conduct research on Naturopathy. Cauvery Nature Cure Centre is located in Pallipalayam, Namakkal district, Tamil Nadu.

Naturopathy promotes wellness at a holistic level through a healthy lifestyle. It lays emphasis on the importance of healthy diet, exercise in the form of Yoga and stress management.

Elaborating on the Memorandum of Understanding, Dr. U Dinesh Kumar, Chairperson, Data Centre and Analytics Lab, Dean, Faculty and faculty in the Decision Sciences area, IIM Bangalore, said that his team at DCAL will collect data to analyze how Naturopathy effectively treats lifestyle-related diseases. “For this purpose, researchers from DCAL will work in close association with the doctors at Cauvery Nature Cure Centre”, he added.

Dr. Masilamani, Founder and Managing Director, Cauvery Nature Cure Centre, stated that Naturopathy is the best form of preventive care which helps reduce the dose of allopathic drugs as a secondary care in several common diseases. “The number of Naturopathy clinics in India is growing rapidly. The effectiveness of Naturopathy has not been empirically proven as of now.”
