Inauguration of 5th edition of IIMB’s FLYER Programme for Reliance Industries Limited
IIM Bangalore has launched the 5th edition of the FLYER Programme, a custom leadership development initiative designed jointly by IIMB faculty and Reliance Industries Limited (RIL).
The 28-day programme, delivered in multiple phases through hybrid mode (on-campus, live online and self-paced learning), offers an integrated learning experience combining classroom lectures, case discussions, simulations and group projects.
The programme is anchored by Prof. Rajendra Bandi, former IIMB faculty of the Information Systems area, Dr. Ashis Mishra, Chairperson, Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management and faculty of the Marketing area, and Dr. Nishant Kumar Verma, Chairperson, Career Development Services and faculty of the Production & Operations Management area.
A distinctive feature of the programme is the Action Learning Project (ALP), where participants work in small groups on real business challenges identified by RIL’s leadership. Supported by IIMB faculty mentors and RIL mentors, participants apply their learning to practical contexts and present their insights to senior leaders at the end of the programme.
The FLYER cohort of 39 participants represents high-potential talent preparing for transitions into new business areas. This initiative is also supported by a strong network of FLYER alumni within RIL, who have previously undergone similar programmes at IIMB over the years.
Through this collaborative endeavor, RIL and IIMB reaffirm their shared commitment to nurturing leadership talent capable of driving growth and innovation across the organization’s diverse businesses.
