IIMB launches 4th batch of Business Management Programme for Defence Officers
On 7th April 2025, IIM Bangalore inaugurated the 4th batch of the long-duration hybrid ‘Business Management Programme for Defence Officers’. Spanning 21 days of immersive learning and supplemented by three MOOCs over six months, the programme is designed to equip 80 officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force – either recently retired or nearing retirement – with core general management skills for a successful transition into corporate careers.
The programme is anchored by Dr. Padmini Srinivasan (Chairperson, Executive Education Programmes and the Centre for Corporate Governance & Sustainability, and faculty of the Finance & Accounting area), Dr. G. Shainesh (Chairperson, Initiatives on Consumer Insights and faculty of the Marketing area), Dr. Nishant Kumar Verma (Chairperson, Career Development Services and faculty of the Production & Operations Management area), and Dr. Rejie George Pallathitta (Chairperson and faculty of the Strategy area).
The inauguration featured addresses by Dr. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Bangalore; Parthasarathy S, Chief Programme Officer – EEP; Brig. Rohit Mehta, ADG South and Gp. Capt. Sanjay Roy, Director, Training DGR, who highlighted the programme’s relevance in enabling smooth second-career transitions for defence personnel.
