IIMB launches Management Development Programme for Indian Telecommunications Service officers
IIMB launched the first batch of the Management Development Programme (MDP) for Indian Telecommunications Service (ITS) officers on 12th May 2025. Spanning eight weeks, the programme aims to equip 55 probationary officers with core General Management skills, as part of their two-year training.
Anchored by Dr. Arnab Mukherji, Chairperson, Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy & Management (PGPPM) and faculty of Public Policy, IIMB, Dr. Mukta Kulkarni, Chairperson, Office of International Affairs, Dean, Programmes and faculty of Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management, IIMB, and Dr. Subhashish Gupta, faculty of Economics, IIMB, the programme blends academic rigor with practical insights. It includes classroom sessions, case-based learning and curated field visits to enhance real-world understanding.
The inaugural session was attended by Chief Guest Debkumar Chakrabarti, Director General, National Communications Academy, alongside Raja Sekhar K, Deputy Director – Training, NCA Telecom, who highlighted the programme’s significance in shaping the officers’ future careers.
